A Day in the Life of the ServiTech Customer Service Representative 1:

As the Customer Service Representative 1, you will effectively contribute to the Laboratory team by providing excellent service and fulfilling the daily responsibilities to ensure quality, problem resolution and to establish reliability and convenience for customers of ServiTech.  This position is critical to the safety of animals' lives, natural resources, and the environment!

This job requires professional and effective communication skills, teamwork, effective organizational skills, the ability to focus and pay attention to details, and the ability to work efficiently without compromising quality to ensure excellent service. The Customer Service Representative 1 will focus on setting-up, drying and logging samples across basic workgroups. The Customer Service Representative 1 position requires prompt and thorough communication, timely processing of verbal and written correspondence, efficient data entry and order processing, and accurate recordkeeping. The Customer Service Representative 1 must use professional and effective verbal and written communication skills to serve internal and external customers. 

This position is based on the customers' needs and therefore fluctuates as far as hours worked during peak seasons which may include long days and a varied schedule.

While serving customers, the Customer Service Representative 1 will work with other ServiTech team members, the Laboratory Manager, and/or the Chief Laboratory Officer to ensure growth and success.  To accomplish this goal, the Customer Service Representative 1 will continuously learn and develop necessary skills to contribute to the lab operations including sample preparation and processing.  This position must demonstrate a professional image by proactively taking responsibility, troubleshooting/problem solving, working individually and as a team, and successfully ensuring quality, productivity, efficiency, and safety.

What You'll Need to Do This Job:

  • Agricultural and Laboratory operations knowledge and experience is preferred
  • Prompt and regular attendance
  • An associate degree in a science and/or agricultural related area of study is preferred or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience in a related field of work/study 
  • Proficient computer operation skills and the ability to learn various software programs
  • Willingness to seek out and attend continuing education and job-related educational opportunities
  • Physically this position demands that an employee both sit or stand for long periods of time 
  • The ability to walk and sit regularly
  • The ability to stand climb stairs, stoop, bend, reach and kneel 
  • The ability to see and differentiate colors 
  • The ability to routinely lift 30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • The ability to work around various odors including manure
  • The ability to work with hazardous and caustic chemicals, exposure to vibration and moderate to loud noise
